Edinburgh Days 13 and 14

Today is Day 15. I think the past two weeks have finally caught up with me a bit. I'm tired. It's the halfway point, so that makes sense. Also, given the late hours everyone here keeps, I don't really perk up til show time, and then after that I feel totally juiced, leaving me up late at night. The good news is, I didn't drink at all yesterday. The bad news is, I may have to not drink again tonight - on Joe's birthday! We're gonna go do karaoke! Woo-hoo! I can be fun sober. I can have fun sober. Especially if there's singing involved. Besides, too much booze has a negative effect on people. Why, just last night, Desiree told us a story about being slapped on the ass at the bus stop by a drunk Scot. Now, if you don't know Desiree, she's an amazon, so why anyone would choose to fuck with her I have no idea. He said he was sorry after she pushed him. Ha.

Sunday, August 16 - DAY 13: Happy Blur

My second 3 show day. I did my show at 6:30, hosted an all-NYC comic lineup at 8:25 called "Stand Uppity" featuring Vicki Ferentinos, Jeff Kreisler and Skinny Bitch Jesus Meeting. Then I did a set on "Peter Buckley Hill and Some Comedians." Both stand up shows were at Canon's Gait with great big crowds and were really super fun. I love that venue. Here are some pics:

Happy Blur

Me, happy, after my set. Kate Smurthwaite, a wonderful comic from London, came off and gave me a swell compliment. "I don't know how you expected me to follow you!," she said. "You were great!," I said. "You totally held your own!" She laughed and said, "I was acting, sweetie. We can all act." Ha! I have to go see her political show, "The News at Kate." So much to watch! (More watching, less drinking is probably a good formula for the rest of the Fringe.)

I waltzed over to Niddry Street on the corner of Cowgate to wait for the girls after their show at the caves. Here's the beginning of my series, "Edinburgh at Night."

City Cafe

Katie decided to go home early, so Leah, Ann and I headed up the hill to City Cafe where Des and Blanca were enjoying a bev. Leah left soon after to give Katie the keys and so the four of us stayed, looking at the boys, mostly playing "Gay or Straight?" Desiree is a dick magnet here, and she's decided it's because her skin makes her exotic. I think it may be the fact that she wears her tits up to her chin most of the time... or that she's just super-duper hot. Regardless, I may invest in a corset.

Monday, August 17 - DAY 14: Tank Tops

Yesterday was my day off. I spent most of the day trying to catch you all up - and by today I've done it! Yay! Snapped a few pics of home life. Here are Katie and Leah, all dolled up and ready to tackle the day:

Katie and Leah Morningtime

I took that first thing in the morning. Around 1 pm, I think.

Dinner a la Wing!

Wing made dinner! She's so nice and such a good cook. We love Wing.

Ladybug Warrior

NYC represented at Vicki Ferentinos's show Ladybug Warrior. Jess Delfino, Mike Amato, Ben Lerman, Stacy Mayer, Desiree, Katie, Leah and I were all there. It was great.

Ben and Night Sky

Ben, outside, after the show. Idn't he just darling? And how 'bout that backdrop?!

Edinburgh Castle with Tram Works

Since it was my day off, I decided to see just one show and walk home slowly via Princes Street. As soon as I got to the Princes Street Mall, which is directly below the castle, tons of fireworks started going off. It was ridonkulousmazing. As I continued to walk West a few more lit up the sky, and of course the light show on the castle is incredible in and of itself. I would really love to see the Military Tattoo before I go. Hopefully when I get a little money, I can try to get a same day ticket or something.

Halfway home, I stopped in to eat with the MacDonald clan (ahem) and noticed 3 very young girls wearing tank tops as dresses - to the point where I could see the bottom curves of 6 ass cheeks. I had half a mind to take their picture, but I didn't want to exploit them. Then I thought I'd go talk to them and tell them every man in the place was staring them down lasciviously. Then I thought, no, why don't I just go say to those men, "Obviously they don't know better, but that doesn't mean you should look." I mean, these girls were 14 if they were a day. One still had braces. I remember being 14, and I remember wanting to be cute, but we wore skirts under our tank tops. I mean, shit. I didn't do anything, I just sat there and watched it all go down. But on the way out, I saw the girls standing out front and stopped. "I'm not trying to be your mother," I said. "But I can see 6 little asscheeks underneath those skirts. These are tank tops," I said, as I tugged the youngest one's down a bit. "Be careful walking down the street, because you're babies, and the men in there are way too old to be looking at you." They blushed and said "thank you," and I went on my way. A little "cool Aunt" vibe never hurt anybody, and hopefully next time they get dressed to go out they'll think twice and at least put some underwear on.
